Missed Appointments
Each appointment at Spixworth Dental Practice is reserved especially for you. We allocate dedicated clinical time to ensure your care is delivered without rushing, allowing us to focus fully on your comfort, questions, and treatment.
When an appointment is missed without notice, that time can’t easily be offered to someone else — which affects other patients who may be waiting to be seen.
Why this matters
Impact on other patients
Missed appointments can affect the care provided to other patients, as they disrupt the practice’s schedule and availability.
Potential charges
As a private practice, missed appointments may result in a charge to the patient or the loss of a plan appointment for that year.
Maintaining practice efficiency
Missed appointments without notice can make it difficult for the practice to operate efficiently and provide timely care to all patients.
If you cannot attend
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact us as early as possible. This allows us to offer the appointment to another patient and helps keep our practice running smoothly.
Call us on 01603 898414 or email [email protected].
What counts as notice?
- More than 24 hours’ notice — no problem, we’ll simply rebook you
- Less than 24 hours’ notice — please still let us know; we’ll always try to be understanding about genuine emergencies
- No notice / no-show — a charge may apply, particularly for longer private appointments or treatment slots
- Repeated non-attendance — we may need to review whether we can continue offering future appointments, particularly for NHS patients where practice capacity is limited
Thank you
We know life happens — unexpected things come up, and we’ll always try to be reasonable. The policy exists to help us continue offering high-quality, unhurried care to everyone. Thank you for understanding.
